There are many reasons to start a blog, everyone is different. Here I will discuss a few reasons I believe that make it beneficial for you to start a blog.
Starting a blog allows you to connect with people who have the same interests as you. It doesn't even matter what interest that is - it can be cooking, gaming, electronics, writing, home decor, it really doesn't matter. Once you start a blog, people who are interested in the topic that your blogging about will start reading and following your blog. This will allow you to meet other like minded individuals that you may not have met before starting your blog.
Having a blog is great way to communicate with others. Not only will this communication help with your communication skills but it will help with your people skills as well.
Starting a blog allows you to see the journey you've gone through, your progress.
Let me give you an example.
Let's say you're learning a new language. You decide to start a blog about your journey towards becoming fluent in that language.
You write posts about what you learned and take the opportunity to even publish some of your writings in the new language you're learning. Some people who come across your posts can get inspired or motivated to learn a new language themselves. Or some who are actually fluent in the language you are trying to learn will read your posts and help you out by communicating with you in that language which would help you become fluent even faster.
By the way, in case you didn't notice, in this scenario you're actually getting free help with learning that new language.
After a while you will be able to write a whole post in the new language you learned. Later, you will be able to go through your blog and see how far you've come.
Having a blog will help you grow, both professionally and personally. It will increase your writing skills and you will begin to think with more clarity, becoming a better thinker.
Many doors of opportunities can open up for you, you will be surprised by some money making or career opportunities that will come to via email because of your blogging. (But be wary of scams).
You'll make a difference in the lives of others by sharing your experiences, thoughts and ideas.
You'll help make things easier and understandable for others by sharing your knowledge.
In my opinion, this one is the best reason to start a blog.
You will make a difference in the lives of others by sharing your experiences, thoughts, and ideas.
You will help make things easier and more understandable for others. Someone is most likely looking for an answer that you have - and you may not even realize it.
There are so many reasons to start a blog.
Reasons beneficial, not only to you, but to others too.
I've shared a few reasons to start a blog, but now I want to make sure that you keep in mind a few things BEFORE you actually start a blog. Besides choosing the right platform, hosting and getting the right domain name there are a few other things you should pay attention to.
Become an Expert. Be the expert on your topic. Don't worry if you're not an expert, you can become that expert in several ways.
After a while, people are going to know you as the expert and begin to look for you when they are looking for answers to their questions.
Focus on quality, instead of quantity. It's far more better to have a quality written post than many posts.
Don't just blog. Include images, videos, and GIFs on your posts. You may get away with creating and publishing your blogs in just written form for people to read. But soon, the one who's blogs include images, videos, and GIFs will push you to the side. Then people will forget about you.
Stay consistent. Don't let anyone or anything demotivate you. Even if you don't post daily, post 3 times a week and stick with it. Continuously publish but remember that quality is better than quantity. So don't sweat it, it's better to make sure your post is of quality no matter what.
Never stop learning. Throughout your "blogging journey" you will find that the online world is constantly changing. You have to keep up, be flexible, keep an open mind and be willing to learn and try new things at all times.
