Let's talk about life.

And some underlying principles in life.

My aim here is to provide you with a short step by step procedure where you will find yourself in the exploration of your feelings and options.  Which will in-turn help you to discover your purpose in life.

By the end of this post, you will have a beneficial process or tool at your disposal that you can use in your life to give it direction, a meaningful direction.

There are 3 steps to this process.

1.     The understanding of the principle of choice.

2.     The creation of your underlying principle.

3.     The aligning of your life with the underlying principle you created.

These 3 steps will help you to discover your purpose in life.

First Step:     Understanding The Principle of Choice

Did you know that you will never be, nor have you ever been, put in a situation where you did not have power and a choice?

You may want to, or maybe you have in the past, tried to justify your situation by saying things like, "I don't have a choice," or "there's nothing I can do".  But, whether you know this or not, that is a complete false belief.

You CAN choose to let the outer world affect your perception of a situation and only you can choose that.  Unfortunately, I can't help with that part, nor can anyone else, only you have this power of choosing for you.

If you're unhappy, you can choose to be happy.

If you're in fear, you can overcome that fear by choosing courage.

The quality of your own life is determined by the choices you, yourself, make.

Not he choices that your parents, your teachers, your boss, or anybody else makes.

When you make any choice, you're declaring your desires, your wants, straight to your subconscious mind.  And once your subconscious mind gets a hold of those desires, it will find a way - no matter what - to manifest those desires into your life.

Doubt, hesitancy, or indecision, on the other hand, can confuse the subconscious mind about what your desires truly are or what it is that you really want.

It's important to note here that the choices you make, be made by only you, in accordance with your purposes, true desires, and aptitude.

Too many of us allow others to make our choices according to what we think is correct, even when they go against what we desire.  Listen to what your heart says, pay attention to how you feel - what may be right for one person may not be right for another, including you.

Start by answering a few questions.

What sort of things interest you?

What makes you feel good?

What inspires you to move ahead, to continue, to keep going?

Create a "Things I like, love, or enjoy to do" list.

Do you enjoy sports?

How about nature?

Do you like being creative or anything artistic?

Whatever it is that you like to do or you have interest in, write it down, create a list.

When you put something on your list, think of why it is that you like that or enjoy doing that thing you wrote down.

Think about ways you can make money doing that particular thing that you like to do.  How can you make a living while doing it?  If you can't think of any way to make money doing it, don't worry, just move on.  Never stay focused on the how because that will always come to you later on, in one way or another.

Second Step:     Creating Your Underlying Principle

Now that you've created your list, you want to examine it.

Is there anything in your list that seems to be recurring, a pattern, or something that is repeated - perhaps in different ways?

Is there something on that list that keeps coming up?

Whatever it is, identify them.

Once you've identified them, think about what's the central part of them, what makes them sort of alike?  Then put that in a short, precise statement.

Write that statement down.

This is your mission statement.

It can even be a quote or a philosophy that has moved or influenced you in some way.

Of course, as you continue along your journey in life, this statement may evolve, but its soul will remain the same.

Third Step:     Aligning Your Life With The Underlying Principle

By now you've thought about the things in your life that you like to do and why you like or enjoy doing them.  You've also thought about ways that you can make money doing those things.  In this final step, you will map out the path, your path, to your ultimate purpose.

First, make the changes in your way of living that would fit in with the principle you have come up with thus far.  Live this principle - not just for today or for now, but for each and every day.

It may take you a while to get use to this way of living, but little by little you will feel the difference that this change will make in your enthusiasm for life.

So never give up, if you ever feel like you messed up, you missed a day, or anything negative towards your attempts at trying to live by your principle, IT IS NOT A BIG DEAL!  Just start over, keep starting over until you don't have to start over anymore.

If you know that you love being around nature, plan for a day out.  Maybe an outing alone or with your children can be enough to recoup.

Maybe what you need is to change your job, or start along a new career path, one that's more in line with your principle or your mission.

No matter what you decide to do, no matter the choices you decide to make, always remember to do what you love.

Your life's purpose is in it, it's in the doing what you love.
